CNC Machinist A, B or C Level - Metal Stamping Industry

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Knowledge in use of precision measuring instruments and the application of such instruments. Instruments should include but not be limited to calipers, ID and OD micrometers, depth gauges, indicators, and scales.
• Observe machine operation to detect malfunctions such as worn or damaged cutting tools.
• Inspects work pieces for conformance to specifications.
• Marks dimensions and reference points on material or work pieces as a guide for subsequent machining.
• Adjusts machine feed and speed and changes cutters to machine parts according to specifications as needed.
• Detects equipment malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining.
• Set up CNC lathes, multi-axis lathes, and 4-axis horizontal milling, vertical milling machines.
• Proven ability to program and an in-depth understanding of blueprint reading including GD&T.
• Studies and interprets drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operations, and set up requirements.
• Knowledge of advanced setup, machine feed, speed, and shop math.
• Programs, sets up, and runs very complex prototypes without assistance.
• Ability to program using CAD CAM SOFTWARE, Master cam.

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of a High School Diploma or GED (Trade School a PLUS).
• Must have experience in milling and turning CNC experience with vertical machining centers including 4th axis - Doosan and/or KIA, Haas machining experience preferred.
• Knowledge of advanced setup, machine feed and speed and shop math.
• Must have a basic understanding of manufacturing safety regulations and a willingness to always follow correct safety procedures.
• Must be a team player with an excellent attitude, can work independently along with the willingness to work beyond a 40-hour week when business dictates.
