CNC Machinist-2nd or 3rd Shift

Job Description

Machine parts to specifications following instructions, drawings, blueprints, and specifications. Set-up and operate various machining tools on CNC and manual machines to produce precision parts efficiently and effectively. Perform set-ups and machining operations on machines capable of milling, grinding, turning, and boring or similar equipment. Provide quality assurances of meeting company specifications. Other duties as may be assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Ability to download, edit, run, and save new programs on various machine controls to meet engineering drawing dimensions, tolerances, and specifications
• Machine parts to specifications using boring mills, grinders, lathes and or similar equipment
• Measure and examine completed parts for defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments such as micrometers and calipers
• Perform set-up, adjust, and operate all tools and many specialized or custom tools to perform precision machining operations
• Study sample parts, drawings, and engineering information to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to manufacture products, and determine product dimensions and tolerances
• Understand machining low carbon, alloy, tool steels and other materials
• Select the appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in preparation of machinery work and setup
• Confer with engineering, supervisory, and manufacturing personnel to exchange technical information

Work Environment/Physical Demands

• Shop environment
• Steel-toed safety shoes and safety glasses required
• Must be able to regularly lift loads of up to 50 pounds
• Work can be strenuous, and includes walking, climbing, kneeling, crawling, squatting, and pulling (such as on torque wrenches) as well as standing for long periods of time

Schedule

• Standard 8-hour shifts
• 150% paid anytime over 8 hours daily
• Hours over 45 in a week are paid as double time
• Shift availability, standard schedules shown below
• First Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday
• Second Shift: 3:30 PM – 12:00 AM, Monday – Friday + 12.5% Shift Premium
• Third Shift: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM, Sunday – Thursday + 7.5% Shift Premium

Pay Range

$24 - $34 per hour
