CNC Machine Programmer and Set Up

Responsibilities
The Machinist is responsible for the timely and accurate manufacture of parts per print specifications utilizing a variety of machining centers safely. They may also make or repair machine tools and maintain industrial machines.
- Check for defective parts on materials and performs maintenance on machines.
- Identify material to be utilized in the manufacturing process.
- Identify various types of tooling.
- Maintain clean and safe work area.
- Set up, operate, and maintain one or more grinders, lathes, saws, and milling machines.
- Review and understand blueprints to ensure accurate production.
- Accurately take precise measurements.
- Select appropriate tooling and settings for a given work order.
- Plan proper sequence of tasks to complete a work order.
- Check output for quality assurance.
- Program and prove out programs to achieve desired result.
Occasional responsibilities include operating a forklift, checking and adding coolant, operating an overhead crane, and assisting in deburring, shop support, or other areas.
Requirements
- Education generally equivalent to a High School diploma.
- 2-3 years of experience preferred but not required.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Able to read and understand blueprints, specifications, and routings.
- Able to collaborate with others to proactively develop solutions.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and safety.
- Basic computer skills.
- Able to work with standard and metric measurements.
- Able to use a tape measure and willing to learn to use other measuring tools.
Physical Requirements
Protective clothing is required, including safety glasses and safety shoes in production areas.
