About the role
Join Our Team as a CNC Machine Operator – Horizontal Machining Center (HMC) and Vertical Machining Center (VMC) at Standard Iron.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate Horizontal Machining Centers (HMC) to perform machining operations such as drilling, tapping, boring, and milling.
- Set up and operate Vertical Machining Centers (VMC) to perform machining operations such as drilling, tapping, boring, and milling.
- Load raw materials and monitor machine performance during operation.
- Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications.
- Adjust offsets, tooling, and machine settings to maintain part quality and tolerances.
- Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.).
- Troubleshoot machine issues and make minor adjustments to ensure continuous production.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with company and OSHA standards.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED (technical training preferred).
- Candidates with any level of CNC machining experience (including HMC) are encouraged to apply. Entry-level applicants with basic machine knowledge will be considered.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

Pay
- Competitive Pay: $18.56 – $27.84 per hour (Competitive pay based on experience)
Schedule
- 1st Shift: Monday – Thursday, 6:00 am to 4:30 pm
- 2nd Shift: Three 12-hour shifts (36 hours) and compensated for a full 40-hour workweek
- 15% shift differential for 2nd shift
