CNC Machine Operator

About the role

The CNC Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining computer numerical control (CNC) machines to produce high-quality precision parts according to engineering blueprints and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC machines (e.g., mills, lathes, routers, grinders) according to job orders and engineering drawings
• Load raw materials and verify correct tooling, fixtures, and offsets
• Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and GD&T symbols
• Monitor machine operations, make adjustments, and perform tool changes as needed
• Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring instruments
• Maintain accurate production records, including setup sheets and quality documentation
• Perform routine machine maintenance and report mechanical issues promptly
• Follow all safety protocols, lockout/tagout procedures, and workplace guidelines
• Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and quality control personnel to resolve production issues
• Identify opportunities to improve machining processes and reduce waste
• Adhere to 5S standards (e.g., maintain cleanliness of work area)
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; technical certification or trade school training preferred
• 2+ years of CNC machining experience in a manufacturing or metalworking environment
• Proficiency in reading blueprints and understanding machining principles
• Experience operating CNC machines (HAAS SL-30, HAAS TL-3, Samsung SL25004 and/or Hurco VM20i a plus, or similar controls)
• Ability to use precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges)
• Basic understanding of G-code and machine programming concepts (a plus)

Pay

Hourly Range: $25 - $28
