CNC Lathe Operator--PRPRA1

About the role

Prepares and operates a computer numerical controlled (CNC) machine used in the production of parts. Has knowledge on the operation of machine equipment and ensures that the machine works as programmed.

Responsibilities

• Selects tools required to produce parts and prepares machines.
• Loads parts onto fixtures and performs machining operation.
• Checks finished part against blueprint, debugs and submits for approval.
• Operates assigned (CNC) machine, or may work a related group of (CNC) machines of similar complexity.
• Understands working properties of common metals, reads blueprints.
• Unloads finished products from the machine.
• Maintain a clean, well-organized workstation.
• May perform minor adjustments to machine and operating procedures to maintain quality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have at least 1 year of experience in CNC operations.
• Must have strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Must be able to operate and troubleshoot various types of CNC machines.
• Must have good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• Must be able to work independently and follow instructions.
