CNC Lathe Machinist

Our client is a precision engineering, manufacturing, and machining company dedicated to producing high-performance, mission-critical components and solutions for the energy, defense, aerospace, and heavy industrial industries.

About the role

As a CNC Set-up Machinist, you'll operate and program CNC machines to produce high-quality parts. You'll play a key role in ensuring precision and efficiency in manufacturing, utilizing your expertise in CAM programming, CNC operation, and quality inspection.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC lathe machines.
• Read blueprints.
• Set up and run multiple lathe machines.
• Modify and edit G/M code programs.
• Inspect parts using Quality Assurance tools such as gauges and micrometers.
• Train and mentor other machinists if/when needed.
• Maintain equipment and ensure a safe work environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5-7 years of CNC programming and operation experience.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and precision machining skills.
• Ability to work with 3, 4, and 5-axis CNC mills.
• Experience with SolidWorks is a plus.

Schedule

• 1st Shift: MON-THURS 6:30 AM - 4:30 PM CST
• 2nd Shift: MON-THURS 4:30 PM - 2:45 AM CST
