Job Overview

Are you a skilled machinist with a passion for precision and innovation? At LeRoi Ingersoll Rand, we are seeking a talented and dedicated CNC Machinist to join our dynamic team. Responsibilities

• Set up, troubleshoot, and operate Lathes and Grinders in multiple departments.
• Use blueprints, sketches, drawings, and/or job instruction sheets to produce dimensions and tolerances of finished work-piece and setup requirements.
• Cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as lathes, grinders, machining centers, drill presses, and drill machines.
• Enter commands to retrieve, input, or edit control information for CNC machines.
• Set up, operate, and monitor machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjust machine controls, tooling or control media as required.
• Utilize a variety of measurement tools and methods to evaluate finished parts against specifications.
• Rework parts that don’t meet specifications.
• Confer with supervisor, engineers, and production personnel to resolve machining problems.
• Follow all ISO procedures and safety rules, including wearing personal safety equipment and performing hoist inspections.
• Route completed parts to next machine according to the routing sequence.
• Perform data entry on the computer to scan jobs and update part locations.
• Update work order cover sheets, daily production sheets, status sheets, and quality records.
• Participate in regular communication among peers and Team Leads to maintain productivity and solve problems as they arise.
• Operate with the close attention to detail required to meet print specifications, down to 0.0002in tolerances.
• Maintain 5S standards of organization and housekeeping of work area.
• Participate in improvement efforts for cell layout, process efficiencies, etc.
• Attend monthly departmental meetings and quarterly town hall meetings.
• All other duties as assigned by the supervisor/team leader.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• 3+ years of CNC machining experience

Core Competencies

• Ability to convert between metric and US standard units of measure.
• Ability to read and understand CMM readouts, and CNC code.
• Ability to troubleshoot machine, and part malfunctions to ensure the quality of your work.
• Ability to use all tool measuring devices and equipment.
• Ability to understand and carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several variables.
• Ability to use standard problem-solving methods (ie. 5 Whys) as trained.
• Ability to stand and walk up to 8 hours continuously during a shift.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs alone, or 70 lbs with assistance, repeatedly over an 8 hour shift.
• Ability to push or pull up to 35 lbs.

Preferences

• Tech school or Associates degree, or additional training certification preferred.
• Effectively use tools such as the following: depth gages, bore gages, height gages, feeler gages, micrometers, calipers, deburring tools, die grinders, drill presses, overhead lifting equipment, etc.
• Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, blueprints, memos, and procedure manuals.
• Perform basic calculations with numbers between 0.0001 and 0.1.

Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements

This position will be based at our site in Sidney, OH with no travel required.

Pay

Starting rate at $28.50 per hour or more based on experience.

Schedule

1st Shift (Monday–Friday 6:00 am–2:30 pm)
