CNC Machinist 2
About the role
Machine parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes and milling machines. Work from blueprints, engineering instructions, specifications, and blueprints. Measure, examine, and test completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments such as micrometers.
Responsibilities
- Set up, adjust, and operate all of the basic machine tools and many specialized tools in order to perform precision machining operations.
- Select appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in the preparation of machine work.
- Clean and lubricate machines, tools, and equipment in order to remove grease, rust, stains, and foreign matter.
- Operate equipment to verify operational efficiency.
- Report faulty or unusual conditions to the appropriate level of supervision.
- Adhere to standards of safety and housekeeping standards.
- Operate and measure machine.
Requirements
- Must be a “U.S. Person” as defined by the U.S. Government and able to work without restrictions with ITAR related data.
- High School Degree or G.E.D.
- 3+ years of experience as a CNC Machinist.
Qualifications
- Must be able to read, write, understand, and speak English at a functional level.
- Able to communicate professionally and effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Able to interpret policies, procedures, and standard business practices.
- Able to read and interpret blueprints and engineering work instructions.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Able to set up and operate CNC turning and milling machines.
- Able to read and understand engineering work instructions.
- Able to measure using standard shop tools, machine tools, and engineered gaging to close established tolerances.
- Knowledge of appropriate speeds and feeds for materials and tools.
- Knowledge of machines codes and G codes.
