CNC Job Setter

Job Duties

• Operate and completely understand all machine controls and functions
• Maintains knowledge of tooling and fixtures used in CNC machining
• Uses extreme caution and observes all safe machining practices on 1st piece production parts to ensure clearance of tooling and machine parts
• Obtains First Article approval through the quality process
• Set-Up machinists will be asked to instruct and train operators on process, inspections, required gauging, and tooling needed to maintain quality products and keep production on schedule
• Monitor cycle times and tooling and work with management to strive for continuous improvement
• Handle all gauging, inspection equipment, and hand tools with proper care and have full understanding of their use
• Responsible for all in process quality checks and other job related paperwork
• Responsible for machine adjustments to ensure products are manufactured to required specs
• Periodic inspection and replacement of tooling

Requirements

• A high school diploma, or equivalent
• 2-3 years of experience with CNC setup and programming
• Relevant certifications, training, or course work preferred, but not required
