CNC Horizontal Lathe Set Up Operator - 3rd Shift

About the role

We are seeking a Machinist skilled in operating horizontal multi-axis lathes for turning, boring, facing, and threading operations.

Responsibilities

• Review blueprints and QC documents to determine machine settings
• Select and install tooling as per job specifications
• Mount workpieces manually or with equipment
• Monitor control panels to ensure accurate machining
• Adjust coolant flow and inspect parts for quality
• Organize materials for efficient changeovers
• Perform preventive maintenance and maintain a clean workspace
• Train new employees and maintain safety standards

Requirements

• 2–5 years of experience with gear cutting, hobbing, and lathe equipment
• Proficiency with manufacturing software and Microsoft Office
• Ability to lift up to 80 lbs
• Interpersonal skills, physical stamina, and dexterity

Work environment

The role involves standing most of the time, with exposure to mechanical parts and airborne particles.
