About the role

3rd Shift (10:45pm–7:00am) position in the Plastic Machining department at our Kulpsville, PA facility. This is a KV Union role (Job Family/Grade 14) reporting to the Supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with all federal, state, and company environmental, health, and safety regulations and policies.
  • Fabricate lathe products using customer or GT drawings with minimal supervision, achieving required production efficiency (set-up, troubleshooting, and run).
  • Edit CNC programs for various lathes and operate all fabrication equipment in the area, including running multiple machines simultaneously.
  • Set up, load, and run equipment to manufacture and inspect components, including generating and editing machine code (programs) at the machine.
  • Make adjustments and assist operators to produce quality parts rapidly according to production requirements.
  • Utilize standard measuring instruments (QMM, OGP, Keyence, Optical Comparator, etc.) to perform first-piece and in-process inspections for reliability and repeatability.
  • Download and use required drawings and inspection sheets; generate new sheets as needed.
  • Perform basic equipment maintenance (e.g., topping off fluids/oils, repositioning water and air lines).
  • Operate ancillary department equipment and perform miscellaneous duties as required.
  • Adhere to the Company’s Quality Policy (ISO 9000 and AS9100) and maintain part quality standards.
  • Actively participate in team meetings for operational planning and improvement ideas.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 12 months of CNC Lathe experience in a production environment, including NC programming, program editing, set-up, troubleshooting, and run.
  • Preferred proficiency in machining thermoplastic materials (e.g., PBI, PEEK/ARLON, NYSILON, ACETAL, UHMWPE, PTFE).
  • Demonstrated proficiency in G-Code, including understanding machine commands, sub-program usage, edge-break calculations, and general editing.
  • Proficiency with operating a workstation computer (searching, saving, and editing files).
  • Ability to independently read and interpret production drawings, work instructions, and company documents.
  • U.S. Person status (U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, or worker granted refugee/asylum status) for ITAR compliance.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for long periods.
  • Occasional sitting, walking, twisting, stooping, and grasping.
  • Ability to lift up to 55 lbs. without mechanical assistance or help from others.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (e.g., eye and foot protection).
  • Perform job safely and in compliance with company policies.

Qualifications

Successful completion of a 30-working-day trial training and evaluation period (may extend until proficiency is achieved).
