CNA/PCA - Med Surg - Part Time - Night

About the role

Works under the supervision of Registered Nurse, Nurse Manager/Director in personal care of the patients and their environment (including those needing special precautions) and performs specified functions in tasks where there is validated competency including: simple wound care (i.e. cleaning of abrasions/lacerations), EKGs, peripheral INT removal, basic phlebotomy, and extremity splinting.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates understanding and knowledge of the technology systems necessary for patient data collection into EMR.
• Demonstrates the ability to follow plan of care to include performing treatments and procedures competently/independently under direction of RN.
• This may include the following procedures dependent upon unit/facility competency requirements: vital signs, ice application, compresses, EKGs, drawing blood, specimen collection, etc.
• Accurately completes all required clinical and quality documentation consistently per RHS standards and regulatory requirements.
• Maintains clean, safe and orderly work/patient environment by cleaning work stations/areas, equipment; stocking supplies; placing equipment in proper storage areas.
• Demonstrates the ability to be able to take direction from the charge nurse to help admit, discharge, or transfer patients in a timely and efficient manner.

Requirements

• Hold a CNA
• Hold an EMT-B license
• Completed an MA program
• Currently enrolled in a Nursing Program with at least 80+ hours of clinical completed

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Prior health care experience in hospital setting (Preferred)
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Virginia Department of Health Professions
• EMT-B (Basic), Virginia Department of Health Professions or National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians
• Medical Assistant Program Graduate
• Currently enrolled in LPN or RN Nursing diploma or degree program with 80 hours completed
• BLS required upon hire

12 hour shifts and working every other weekend. Night shift is 7p - 7:30a
