About the role

The Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) assists the licensed nursing staff by performing routine nursing duties and activities of daily living.

Responsibilities

• Performs personal care services within the framework of each resident’s activities of daily living and functional abilities.
• Documents all information pertaining to assigned residents on each shift accurately and timely, including meal percentages, intake and output recordings, and reports them to the charge nurse every shift.
• Reports any significant changes in resident condition, incident/accidents, injuries, and/or skin integrity issues immediately to the charge nurse.
• Transports residents to and from activities, meals, and therapy as indicated.
• Participates in all required and mandatory in-services, demonstrating full knowledge of all policies/procedures and performing job duties accurately and timely.
• Meets all state requirements for recertification, completing and submitting all required documentation to ensure timely certification renewal.
• Works as a team player by consistently assisting other staff members when help is needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

• Successful completion of Certified Nursing Assistant Competency Program, with current certification in the state of California.
• One year of experience in a skilled nursing facility is preferred.
• Current CPR certification.
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Reliable and follows safety procedures and duties assigned by a supervisor.
