Responsibilities
- Perform personal care and homemaking services for clients in the community.
- Adhere to written and oral instructions prepared by primary nurse.
- Perform all aspects of personal care and hygiene to patients according to Hope Hospice Policy and Procedures.
- Utilize knowledge of proper and safe techniques regarding ambulation, transfer, positioning, and range of motion (ROM), Standard Precautions.
- Guide caregivers and families regarding the safe and comfortable personal care of the patient, including but not limited to activities of daily living (ADLs), Standard Precautions, mobility, and environment.
- Assist families of patients as needed.
- Document care and services, observations, and interventions to the primary nurse, managers, and interdisciplinary group (IDG).
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Certificate of completion of a qualified Certified Nurse Assistant training program.
- Current Florida Certified Nursing License.
- Must successfully complete a competency evaluation program prior to furnishing services to patients.
- CPR certification required.
- Valid Florida Driver’s License with a good record.
- Automobile Insurance.
- Clear Level 2 background check.
- Active BLS for healthcare professionals from the American Heart Association or Red Cross.
- Certification of completion of Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias Training through the Florida Department of Elder Affairs.
- Consent to drug and/or alcohol testing after a conditional offer of employment is made, as well as ongoing compliance with the Drug-Free Workplace Policy.
Skills
- Excellent communication via phone, in person, and email.
- Good time management and organizational skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information following HIPAA guidelines.
- Knowledge of meal preparation and feeding techniques.
- Flexibility to work in other locations if needed.
