About the role

The certified nursing assistant provides direct residents/customers care, adhering to facility and department policies and procedures. They support the Village's mission, values, and service/hospitality (PRIDE) expectations.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal care to patients, assisting with ADLs (activities of daily living).
• Accurately and timely checks and records vital signs, weighs residents/customers, and ensures cleanliness and comfort.
• Reports resident/customer information to supervising nurse or manager promptly.
• Accurately and timely completes required documentation to meet state and Village requirements.
• May perform custodial, housekeeping, food service duties, and wheelchair escort services as necessary.
• Assists residents/customers with eating when necessary.
• Initiates and participates in case conferences related to resident/customer goals and care.
• Maintains acceptable standards of workplace conduct.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• MO CNA certification required in MO; KS CNA and Home Health aide certification required in KS.
• CPR certification preferred.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft operating system and Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent time management and multitasking abilities.
• Reads and interprets documents and writes simple sentences, paragraphs, and correspondence.
• Adds, subtracts, multiplies, and divides in all units of measure.
• Can lift up to 75 lbs, carry up to 5 lbs, push/pull up to 40 lbs, and climb up to 8 inches.
• Frequent bending, sitting, standing, walking, and reaching.

Special Working Conditions

• Inside environmental conditions with protection from weather changes.
• Exposure to infectious diseases.
• Required to drive between locations.
• Exposure to outdoor elements during patient visits.
• May be exposed to outside elements during transportation.

Physical and Mental Demands

• Lifts up to 75 lbs from knuckle to waist level.
• Lifts up to 25 lbs from floor to 38 inches.
• Lifts up to 40 lbs from floor to 48 inches.
• Carries up to 5 lbs 100 ft.
• Carries up to 38 lbs at 36 inches height for 15 ft.
• Carries up to 20 lbs for 75 ft.
• Pushes/pulls horizontally up to 40 lbs at 36 inches height for 100 ft.
• Pushes/pulls vertically up to 10 lbs.
• Grips up to 40 lbs.
• Fine motor coordination and foot coordination required.
• Balance and fine motor coordination needed.
• Continuous sitting, standing, and walking.
