CNA / Medical Assistant - Orthopedics and Sports Medicine

Responsibilities

• Affords assistance to nursing staff with various tasks.
• Assists in rooms patients.
• Takes vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiratory rate.
• Provides direct patient care.
• Interacts with patients, family members.
• Maintains records of care given.
• Placess medication refills under direction of physician/PA/NP.
• Performs efficient and appropriate room cleaning procedures and ensures rapid room turnover.
• Fulfills standard precautions and procedures for decontaminating instruments, equipment, rooms and ancillary items.
• Affords assistance in sorting, counting, maintaining, packing, wrapping, sterilization and storing of instruments.
• Performs inventory, restocking and ordering as required.
• Performs suture removal as directed.
• Respects and maintains confidentiality.
• Works in a safe, compliant and ethical manner at all times.

Requirements

• Valid certification from an accredited Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant program.
• Experience and training as a medical assistant with demonstration of appropriate competencies may be accepted in lieu of completion of medical assistant program.
• CNA certification preferred but not required.
• 6 months – 1 year related experience preferred but not required.
• Willing to train the right candidate.
• Must be computer literate.
• EPIC experience is a plus.
