CNA-Med/Surg - Full Time Nights

About the role

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is responsible for assisting in the care of patients. Duties include supporting activities of daily living, monitoring patient conditions, and supporting nursing staff to ensure quality of patient care and comfort in the hospital setting. Scheduled workdays and times may vary and will include weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Supports and promotes an environment aligned with the hospital’s Mission, Vision, and Values.
• Provides emotional support to patients and communicates respectfully with families.
• Maintains clean and safe patient rooms.
• Assists patients with cleanliness, grooming, nourishment, rest, activity, and elimination to ensure comfort and safety.
• Accurately takes and records vital signs, height, weight, intake and output, and other measurements.
• Notifies nursing staff of changes in patient conditions in a timely manner.
• Promptly responds to call lights.
• Transports patients throughout the facility as needed.
• Helps prevent falls through frequent rounding.
• Assists with daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning of equipment, work, and storage areas.
• Communicates effectively with co-workers, including end-of-shift updates.
• Uses critical thinking to prioritize workload based on clinical knowledge and patient needs.
• Maintains confidentiality of all patient, hospital, or physician-related information.
• Documents care activities accurately in patient health records.
• Follows hospital and unit-specific policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned, which may change with or without notice.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Completion of a state-approved CNA program.
• Previous CNA experience preferred.
• Active CNA certification/state registry status.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire.

Pay

$17.50 - $21.88 per hour.
