CNA Instructor

About the role

The Certified Nurse’s Assistant (CNA) Instructor will assist students in registering for the Massachusetts State CNA licensing exam and instruct them according to a curriculum designed to build knowledge and clinical skills for passing the licensing exam.

Responsibilities

• Teach the course curriculum as outlined in the Nursing Assisting: A Foundation in Care Giving 5th Edition Hartman 2020 manual and use the companion instructor’s guide;
• Build knowledge and develop clinical skills aimed at assisting students in obtaining the CNA license;
• Maintain accurate records on all students, including attendance records, schedules, and course requirements regarding hours of instruction and content;
• Evaluate and document student progress through testing, observation, and assessment of skills attained;
• Communicate effectively with students, and all those affiliated with the course, including staff at clinical training facilities, other staff, and prospective employers;
• Provide a stimulating environment that encourages student participation, interpersonal skills development, and concepts of good patient care.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse License in Massachusetts;
• Two years nursing experience;
• LTC experience;
• Ability to perform physical work with patients and students in a clinical setting.
