Intensive Care Day shift, full-time (36 hours per week). Schedule alternates Week 1: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday; Week 2: Monday, Tuesday, Saturday. Holiday rotation required.
About the role
Provides basic nursing care to patients under the direct supervision of Registered Nurses and/or Licensed Practical Nurses.
Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature without loss of efficiency or composure.
- Recognize the rights and responsibilities of patient confidentiality.
- Convey empathy and compassion to those experiencing grief, pain, or trauma.
- Report to other staff members any changes in patient condition.
- Relate to others in a manner that creates a sense of teamwork and cooperation.
- Communicate effectively and therapeutically with people from every socioeconomic background.
- Incorporate guest relations into daily activities.
Working Conditions
- Inside environment, protected from the weather but not necessarily temperature changes.
- Subject to frequent exposure to infection, contagious disease, and hazardous materials and equipment.
- Occasionally subject to combative patients.
- Variable noise levels.
- Exposure to rapid pace, multiple stimuli, unpredictable environment, and critical situations.
Physical Demands
- Able to perceive the nature of sounds by the ear.
- Express or exchange ideas by means of spoken word.
- Perceive characteristics of objects through the eyes.
- Extend arms and hands in any direction.
- Seize, hold, grasp, turn, or otherwise work with hands.
- Pick, pinch, or otherwise work with fingers.
- Perceive attributes of objects such as size, shape, temperature, or texture.
- Stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
- Lift 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Continuous walking and standing.
- Able to identify, match, and distinguish colors.
- Rare lifting of greater than 100 pounds.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- CNA Certification.
- CPR Certification.
- Previous CNA experience in acute care (desired but not required).
Pay
Hourly rate: $20.48 – $31.36.
