JourneyCare Hospice is hiring Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) for our Inpatient Unit in Barrington, IL. This is a night shift role with a consistent, predictable schedule and competitive hourly pay.
Pay and Schedule
- Base pay: Up to $26/hour – based on experience
- Night shift differentials:
- $1.25/hour for weekday nights
- $2.50/hour for weekend nights
- Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Includes every other weekend and 3 holidays per year
Qualifications
- Certified by the state as a nurse aide
- Maintains a current CPR Certification
- Listed on the state aide registry with a clear record
- Able to deliver care to patients
- 18 years of age unless state law dictates otherwise
- Valid driver’s license with an insured automobile or reliable transportation (preferred)

Responsibilities
- Perform various services for a patient as necessary to meet their personal comfort needs under the supervision of a registered nurse
- Observe the patient, report these observations, and document observations and care performed
- Perform personal care needs after given a patient’s assignment and attend to requests promptly
- Meet safety needs of patients and use equipment safely and properly (foot stools, side rails, O2, etc.)
- Provide personal care including baths, back rubs, oral hygiene, shampoos, and changing bed linens as assigned
- Report on patient’s condition and significant changes, including awareness of caregiver or other individuals visiting the patient and interpersonal issues
- Adhere to the organization’s documentation and care procedures and standards of personal and professional conduct
