About the role

Essex Meadows is a senior living community set on a 1,000‑acre natural preserve near the shoreline in Essex, CT. They seek hospitality‑focused CNAs to work one‑on‑one with residents in Assisted Living.

Pay

$23‑26 per hour (rate includes shift differential).

Schedule

Per diem, flexible hours depending on needs; overnight availability required 8 PM‑8 AM.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall resident personal hygiene and ADL (activities of daily living) functioning.
• Deliver compassionate care while encouraging residents to their maximum level of independence under nursing supervisor direction.
• Encourage participation in facility functions and assist with transport, transfer, escort, supervision, or lending assistance as needed.
• Maintain resident environment in a clean, orderly condition and report needed repairs or cleaning.
• Report assessments or observations of changes in resident condition accurately and timely, and document appropriately.
• Maintain residents’ safety and rights, performing duties per facility policies, state/federal regulations, and supervisor/Director of Nursing instructions.
• Attend in‑service training, educational seminars, and staff meetings as needed to stay current on nursing changes and policies.

Qualifications

• Current CT Certified Nurse Aide certification.
• Minimum of six months to one year of experience as a CNA.
• Prior geriatric nursing aide experience preferred.
• Ability to build rapport with patients.
• Compassionate and caring demeanor.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Ability to speak and understand English.
• Must pass pre‑employment screening: fitness‑for‑duty physical, criminal background check, drug test, and employment references.
• Some roles may require vaccination status verification.
