CNA for Assisted Living

About the role

Patriots Glen, located in the Lake Hills neighborhood of Bellevue, is looking for CNAs to join their team. Pay range: $22–$25 per hour. On-call for night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient rounds as assigned.
• Assist patients with bathing, oral care, dressing/undressing, toileting, perineal care, grooming, eating and taking/recording vital signs in accordance with facility policies.
• Assist with daily housekeeping duties – making beds, taking out trash, removing trays and dirty dishes, etc.
• Remind and/or assist residents to the dining room and daily activities.
• Assist with special events as needed.
• Maintain your assignment as directed.
• Demonstrate competency in the prevention of foodborne illness and safe food handling.
• Assist with activities of daily living as designated in each patient’s care plan.
• Respond promptly to all calls for assistance; request a replacement or immediately advise supervisor if unable to answer promptly.
• Assist in emergency situations: call 911, request supervisor/med tech assistance, complete Incident Report, and provide documentation to Nursing Supervisor and/or Executive Director.
• Ensure correct recording of all resident ADLs before leaving shift; receive/give verbal updates at shift change.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by Med Tech, Supervisor, or Executive Director within your scope of practice.
• Complete security checks as assigned.
• Monitor and ensure the general wellbeing of all residents; be familiar with current individual resident service plans.
• Communicate changes in condition (medical, emotional, physical) immediately.
• Perform all tasks in a professional, timely and caring manner while maintaining a positive and cheerful attitude.
• Work cooperatively with patients, nurses, other nursing assistants, supervisors, physicians, families, consultant personnel and ancillary service providers.
• Provide a safe and secure environment while ensuring a high degree of confidentiality and respect for residents’ privacy; be knowledgeable and aware of HIPAA regulations.
• Follow established performance standards and perform duties according to nursing service policies and procedures.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team and other facility meetings as assigned.

Requirements

• Proficient computer skills to manage the electronic health record (EHR).
• Ability to manage information electronically and transfer records appropriately.
• Ability to work in an electronic environment.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Strong oral, written and telephone skills.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted.
• In good health and physically/mentally capable of performing assigned tasks.
• Certified in First Aid/CPR.
• Obtain any permits or training required for the job.
