CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant - Bethany - PT - Evening Shifts
Facility: Good Samaritan – Bethany, a 79-bed long-term skilled care and transitional care facility in Brainerd, Minnesota.
About the role
The Nursing Assistant (NA) serves as caregiver to residents during the scheduled work period in long-term care. Provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN). Delivers age-appropriate care related to physical and psychological needs as per the care plan. Follows infection prevention and control policies and uses Personal Protective Equipment.
Responsibilities
- Assist with basic health care needs including daily living activities such as bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, and obtaining and recording vital signs.
- Provide psychosocial support and personal care to assigned residents.
- Assist residents in transferring, repositioning, and walking using correct techniques and equipment; provide range of motion and passive exercises.
- Complete tasks related to food preparation and dining, ensuring a positive dining experience.
- Assist residents with meals and snacks; provide water and supplements as appropriate.
- Aid providers and nursing staff with procedures as needed.
- Document resident interactions, care outcomes, behavior, activity, and dietary information.
- Communicate resident’s changing condition and care-related concerns to the charge nurse.
- Collect non-invasive body fluid specimens and gather vital signs.
- Provide housekeeping and laundry services to assist residents in maintaining clean living areas.
- Assist with and document wellness and recreational programs; encourage resident participation.
- May participate in departmental or organizational committees and task forces.
Requirements
- High school graduate or GED preferred, but not required.
- Minimum age of 16.
- Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or ability to become certified within four months of hire (training and certification provided by facility).
- Satisfactorily complete yearly department-specific competency testing and maintain continuing education credits (minimum 12 hours annually).
- Maintain all required certifications.
- When applicable, certified and registered with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry.
- If required by role, must qualify as a Sanford Category II Driver: valid driver’s license, motor vehicle report, and medically qualified per Sanford Driving Policy.
Schedule
- Part-time: 16 hours per week (32 hours per bi-weekly pay period).
- Evening shift: 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
- Rotating weekends and holidays.
- Additional weekend incentive: $1.25 per hour.
- Additional shift incentive: $1.25 per hour for hours worked between 6:00 PM and 6:00 AM.
Pay
Salary range: $20.00 - $25.50 per hour.
Sign-on bonus available if eligibility requirements are met.
