CNA 2nd Shift Evening 3pm-11pm

Full-time CNA position available on the 3pm-11pm shift, every other weekend required.

About the Role

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) plays an integral role in the success of our team, our community, and creating a place our residents are proud to call home. The primary purpose of this position is to provide assistance in all Nursing Department functions as directed and in accordance with established policies and procedures, and to assist residents with activities of daily living.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical support to assist residents with daily living activities, such as lifting, transfers, assisting with bed mobility, bathing, dressing, toileting, standing, walking, exercising, serving and assisting with meals, and taking vital signs.
• Observe and document the health, behavior, physical, and emotional condition of each resident, promptly reporting all changes to the nurse.
• Respond promptly and courteously to resident call signals, signal lights, bells, or intercom systems to determine residents' needs.
• Promote personal safety and the safety of residents by maintaining a clean and safe environment, observing infection control practices, following facility guidelines, and reporting unsafe situations to the nurse.
• Communicate with nurses on resident conditions, changes, and concerns.
• Complete required documentation in a timely manner.
• Provide companionship, comfort, and support to residents.
• Meet federal and state in-service requirements.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Be able to make independent decisions and follow instructions.
• Deal tactfully with personnel, prospects, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the public.
• Capable of working with ill, disabled, elderly, and emotionally upset people within the facility.
• Communicate effectively in a manner sufficient for clear communication with supervisors, team members, prospects, residents, and families.
• Must meet all applicable state and federal requirements for this position.
• Prefer 6 months or more of experience in a home care, assisted living, or long-term care facility.

Skills

• Prolonged periods of standing.
• Ability to lift fifty (50) pounds; moving, lifting, or transferring of residents may involve lifting up to 75 pounds.
• Ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry patients.
• Ability to use abdominal and lower back muscles over time without fatigue.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
• Ability to bend, stoop, stretch, twist, sit, and reach.
• Fine motor skills.
• Executes tasks independently.
• Ability to express yourself clearly and effectively verbally.
• Ability to concentrate on moderate details with frequent interruptions.
• Visual acuity and hearing alertness.

Working Conditions

• Tasks may involve potential and/or direct exposure to blood, body fluids, infectious diseases, air contaminants, and hazardous chemicals.
• Exposure to ambient room temperatures and lighting.
