About the Role

The Memory Care Center CMT or L1MA is responsible for maintaining quality resident care in accordance with the Communities Policy and Procedure and federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and guidelines while ensuring the resident’s highest quality of life. This position administers medications and assists in providing quality, direct resident care.

This is a full-time, evening shift position.

Responsibilities

  • Provide quality nursing care to residents in an environment that promotes resident rights, dignity, individuality, and freedom of choice.
  • Administer and document all medications by oral, inhalation, or topical route as ordered by a doctor.
  • Conduct resident rounds daily, participate in daily staff huddles, and report problems to the charge nurse and/or Director of Nursing.
  • Label all OTC or other medications not marked by the pharmacy that may be used by residents.
  • Remove unused medications or add new medications as ordered by a doctor, following facility policies and procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all pertinent resident information.
  • Report resident concerns and/or grievances immediately to the charge nurse.
  • Recognize changes in resident condition and report to the charge nurse.
  • Reorder medications from the pharmacist and return all unused medications per facility policies and federal, state, and local laws.
  • Obtain vital signs as ordered or needed and record appropriately per facility policies.
  • Document all medication errors and report to the charge nurse and/or Director of Nursing.
  • Assist fellow co-workers in job duties to meet residents' needs.
  • Report all incidents/accidents promptly and complete required paperwork.
  • Promote positive and open communication between team members, residents, visitors, and other departments.
  • Ensure safety regulations and precautions are followed at all times.
  • Perform tasks as delegated within scope of practice.
  • Maintain a professional image and utilize problem-solving skills to obtain appropriate resolutions.
  • Support other team members and the facility through appropriate communication.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with inter-department personnel and other departments to meet residents' needs.
  • Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment.
  • Participate in and assist with departmental studies and projects as assigned.
  • Assist new employees and remain open to new ideas and changes in the department or facility.
  • Comply with expected ethical and legal standards, including matters related to resident abuse and neglect, by adhering to laws, regulations, and facility policies.
