About the role
This position is responsible for all CMM programming, setup, and inspection of manufactured product to verify conformance to engineering drawings, specifications, and standard specifications. You will perform first piece, incoming, in-process, and final inspection, and report results to fully describe component parts, sub-assemblies, or finished products. This is a multi-facility role supporting various Enjet locations throughout Connecticut and Massachusetts.
Responsibilities
- Program, set up, and operate CMMs (especially Hexagon CMM with PC-DMIS) to inspect aerospace components
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T to obtain part information
- Use precision instruments (micrometers, calipers, verniers, dial indicators, profilometers, comparators, height gages, pin gages, plug/thread gages, radius gages) to measure and verify part dimensions
- Review and verify inspection and testing of parts for compliance with drawings and specifications
- Ensure only acceptable product moves to the next operation
- Work independently or as part of a team to resolve discrepancies
- Report to the Quality Manager and collaborate with functional areas
- Travel as needed to support multiple facilities
Requirements
- 5+ years of aerospace or manufacturing quality inspection experience
- Ability to program CMM inspection routines using PC-DMIS (preferred but willing to train)
- Familiarity with ISO9001/AS9100 standards (a plus)
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.)
- Due to ITAR regulations, must be a U.S. citizen or U.S. permanent resident
