CMM Programmer

About the role

We are seeking a motivated CMM Programmer to contribute to our mission supporting our work at Centrus Energy in Oak Ridge, TN. This role will ensure compliance with quality requirements and ensure that manufactured products meet specified standards.

Responsibilities

• Create, modify, validate and maintain Coordinate Measuring Machine programs for production components and calibration of tooling.
• Design and develop CMM fixtures/work holding.
• Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and CAD Models.
• Work with quality engineering to perform Gauge R&R, capability studies, correlations and RCCA activity.
• Troubleshoot CMM programs, probes, fixtures and measurement issues.
• Establish and oversee weekly and daily maintenance of CMM instruments.
• Track CMM performance to ensure calibration is accurate.
• Train technicians and operators on program setup and execution.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in related field. Additional experience can be considered in lieu of education.
• Minimum of five years of experience in CMM programming and dimensional inspection.
• Hands-on CMM experience.
• Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ANSI Y14.5.
• Due to federal contract security requirements, candidates must be able to successfully pass a federal background investigation to secure and maintain DOE Q security clearance if required.
• Due to federal contract security requirements, this position requires U.S. Citizenship.
• Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize projects to meet completion dates.
• Ability to execute tasks assigned with minimum supervision.
• Strong computer software skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office products.

Preferred Qualifications

• Active DOE Q Clearance.
• Experience in Aerospace, Medical or Defense Manufacturing.
• Programming and operation experience using Zeiss Calypso software and CMMs.
• Experience programming optical CMMs (ViScan preferred).
• Modeling experience with Creo or other software.
