Position Summary
CMM Programmer demonstrates an expert ability to operate CMM scanners, produce reports, and recommend corrective actions to manufacturing and production personnel. The role also involves programming CMMs and Structured Light Scanning Systems, developing inspection processes, contributing to SPC studies, and participating in correlation studies.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Develops, maintains, and generates CMM/ SLS programs used to inspect and verify production materials and components.
Reviews blueprints and specifications to establish correct inspection criteria following best practices.
Participate in correlation studies involving different metrology instruments.
Conduct quality control inspections.
Troubleshoot and perform maintenance as necessary on the CMM/SLS.
Required Skills
Proficiency inspecting with at least one metrology software including, but not limited to: PC-DMIS, Calypso, Modus, or Zeiss INSPECT.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
Working knowledge of AS13001, ASME Y14.5, ISO 17025, and/or AS9100.
Experience with inspection hand tools.
Basic math skills.
Preferred Skills
Proficiency programming with at least one metrology software including, but not limited to: PC-DMIS, Calypso, Modus, or Zeiss INSPECT.
ASME Y14.5 certification.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma Methodology, and/or Agile Methodology.
Experience & Education
2 to 5 years of professional work experience as a CMM Programmer.
Associate Degree in Manufacturing Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field preferred.
Aerospace or Automotive Quality experience is preferred.
