Key Responsibilities
- Perform dimensional inspections using CMM equipment to verify conformance to customer drawings, models, and specifications
- Operate CMMs and follow established inspection plans
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements
- Analyze CMM inspection results and prepare detailed inspection reports
- Identify and document non-conforming materials or quality defects
- Perform First Article, In-Process, and Final Inspections
- Maintain inspection records in accordance with quality procedures
- Perform daily and weekly CMM machine checks and basic maintenance
- Ensure all CMM reports and generated data are stored properly and backed up
- Provide support to the Quality Control team across various inspection activities
- Assist and provide technical guidance to production, engineering, and quality personnel
- Stay current with GD&T standards, inspection methods, and industry best practices
- Support additional quality functions as assigned (Calibration, Audits, CAPA, RMAs, Customer Complaints, etc.)
Requirements
- Must be eligible to obtain a Secret-level security clearance
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience performing First Article Inspection (FAI) and associated documentation
- Hands-on experience operating CMM equipment
- Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Hands-on experience operating and often programming CMMs using industry-standard software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso)
- Ability to troubleshoot basic CMM faults
- Aerospace manufacturing experience preferred
- Willingness to work overtime when needed
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
