CMM Operator

Job Responsibilities

• Operate the CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) for part layout, fixture certification, and sample submissions to assure dimensional conformance to customer specifications
• Supports Magna Operational Principles and Employee Charter criteria within context and position's scope of work
• Safeguards EBM’s ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System, ISO 14001 Environmental Management System, IATF System, as well as Magna Safety and Magna Environmental Program requirements
• Operates CMM and assists with maintenance of the CMM including hardware and software
• Utilizes PC-DMIS (Personal Computer Dimensional Measurement Interface Specification) software to execute part layouts and fixture certifications
• Affixes analysis of results from computer programs and parts sampling with Quality, Tool Room, and Engineering teams
• Supports manufacturing needs by providing accurate and timely data from CMM
• Participates in PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) with Quality & Engineering
• Calibrates precise measuring equipment regularly and records data
• Analyzes gauge R&R (Reliability and Repeatability) data
• Seeks out opportunities for Continuous Improvement
• Performs housekeeping and other activities as assigned

Qualifications

• Mechanical or manufacturing/machine operation experience, preferably in the automotive field
• Prior quality experience helpful
• Technical ability required to learn how to operate CMM properly
• 3-5 years’ experience as Operator or Technician
