CMM Operator

About the role

Zenix Aerospace Jet Products is seeking a CMM Operator for their 2nd shift at the Ketema facility in El Cajon, CA. This position involves operating a Coordinate Measuring Machine to inspect precision mechanical parts and assisting with first article layouts and inspections.

Responsibilities

• Calibrates CMM and loads parts / fixtures onto the machine
• Starts up programs, aligns parts to programs for production
• Performs periodic machine verification and saves reports to the database
• Documents dimensional criteria and cosmetic conformance of parts
• Maintains tool drawing and history files on all active tooling
• Lays out first run and production parts from blueprints
• Plans inspection procedures including layout, set up, and mathematical computations
• Performs dimensional and visual in-process inspections of items during manufacturing
• Inspects electronic assemblies, subassemblies, hardware, and parts for compliance with specifications
• Coordinates with shop personnel while working with the CMM part program
• Assists in "root cause" analysis, statistical analysis, and engineering
• Maintains cleanliness of the work area, ensures proper handling of tools, and maintains equipment and stock to prevent loss

Qualifications

• Technical degree or equivalent education preferred
• 3 years of manufacturing-related experience
• Familiarity with ANSI / ASME 14.5 GD&T Standards
• Experience with Calypso or PC-DMIS software preferred
