About the role

This position administers the CMDB and IT Asset Management modules within ManageEngine ServiceDesk Plus, ensuring accurate asset tracking, lifecycle management, and compliance across hybrid infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain the CMDB within ManageEngine ServiceDesk Plus.
• Create and manage Configuration Items (CIs) and CI relationship mapping for servers, network devices, applications, databases, end-user devices, cloud resources, and business services.
• Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and completeness of CMDB records through regular audits, reconciliation, and validation.
• Establish CI lifecycle management standards and governance processes.
• Manage the complete lifecycle of IT assets from procurement through retirement, including hardware, software, cloud, and virtual assets.
• Maintain asset inventory records, monitor utilization, warranty status, ownership, and compliance.
• Support software asset management and license compliance activities.
• Support discovery tool integrations and automated asset population; validate discovered assets against CMDB records.
• Reconcile discrepancies between inventory sources and CMDB; maintain asset normalization standards.
• Develop procedures to prevent duplicate asset creation.
• Support Incident, Problem, Change, Release, and Request Management teams through accurate CMDB data.
• Conduct impact analysis for change requests using CI relationships; assist root cause analysis utilizing service dependency mapping.
• Support Major Incident and Problem Management investigations.
• Define CMDB and Asset Management policies, standards, and procedures; establish configuration baselines and auditing mechanisms.
• Support regulatory, contractual, and internal compliance requirements; participate in customer audits and governance reviews.
• Produce asset inventory and CMDB compliance reports.
• Develop dashboards and reports for asset inventory, lifecycle, warranty compliance, software compliance, utilization, CMDB accuracy, discovery coverage, asset refresh requirements, and configuration compliance.
• Support executive and customer governance reporting requirements.

Requirements

• 5–10 years of experience in CMDB and IT Asset Management.
• Hands-on experience with ManageEngine ServiceDesk Plus CMDB Administration, IT Asset Management Module, asset discovery, relationship mapping, service catalog integration, and reporting/dashboard creation.
• Knowledge of ITIL best practices and ITSM processes: Incident, Problem, Change, Configuration, Asset, Release, and Knowledge Management.
• Familiarity with infrastructure components: Windows/Linux servers, Active Directory, network devices, cloud infrastructure (Azure/AWS), databases, storage & backup, and end-user computing.

Preferred Skills

• ServiceDesk Plus Discovery, Endpoint Central, SCCM, Microsoft Intune, Azure Asset Management.
• Power BI Reporting, SQL, CMDB data modeling, asset reconciliation tools.

Pay

$120,000 – $155,000 per year.
