About the role
The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) reports to the Outpatient Clinic Manager. They provide support to a decentralized patient-centered approach to patient care under the direction of a physician.
Responsibilities
- Interviews patients, measures vital signs, and records or inputs information into patients' medical records.
- Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients.
- Aids in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an accredited medical assisting program with one year of patient care experience preferred.
- One of the following certifications/licenses:
- American Medical Technologist (AMT)
- American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
- National Health career Association (NHA)
- MedCA as a Certified Clinical & Administrative Medical Assistant (MA1)
- National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP)
- National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)

- Standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs, working indoors, working outside in temperature extremes, working from elevated areas, working in confined/cramped spaces, bending at the waist, twisting at the waist, squatting, performing pinching operations, performing gross motor activities with fingers and hands, performing firm grasping with fingers and hands, performing fine manipulation with fingers and hands, reaching overhead, performing repetitive motions with hands/wrists/elbows and shoulders, using both legs, using lower extremities for balance and coordination, reaching in all directions, lifting and carrying 50 lbs. unassisted, lifting/lowering objects 50 lbs. from/to floor from/to 36 inches unassisted, lifting from 36" to overhead 25 lbs. unassisted, exerting up to 50 lbs. of force, maintaining 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes, determining distance/relationship between objects; depth perception, matching or discriminating between colors, maintaining hearing acuity, with correction, performing gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements, dealing effectively with stressful situations, working rotating shifts, working overtime as required, working in a latex safe environment, maintaining tactile sensory functions, maintaining good olfactory sensory function, being qualified physically for respirator use, initially and as required.

Pay
Hourly pay grade Health-21, with scheduled weekly hours of 40.
Schedule
Rotating shifts, with occasional overtime as required.
Qualifications
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of an accredited medical assisting program, and one of the required certifications/licenses listed above.
