Responsibilities
- Absorb patients, obtain health histories, record vital signs, and document accurately in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Administer medications, immunizations, and treatments according to scope of licensure.
- Educate patients and families on health conditions, medications, preventive care, and follow-up instructions.
- Cook up referrals, testing, and follow-up care to support positive patient outcomes.
- Respond to patient and parent questions, concerns, and clinical needs.
- Support well-child visits, acute care appointments, and routine pediatric procedures.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment.
- Collaborate with providers and team members to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) – Iowa Board of Nursing OR Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Iowa Board of Nursing OR Valid and current certification in the state of Iowa for Medical Assisting.
- Graduate of an accredited program for Medical Assistants (Certificate, diploma, or Associate’s Degree) required.
- Certified or Registered Medical Assistant through one of the following required: National Healthcare Association, American Association of Medical Assistants, National Center for Competency Testing, National Certified Medical Assistant, National Association of Health Professionals, American Registry of Medical Assistants, American Allied Health, American Medical Technologists.
- Familiarity with EPIC a plus!
