About the role

The Certified Medical Assistant II provides medical assistance under the supervision of the physician, physician's assistant, or nursing staff. This position works at JPOC 1350, located at 1350 S. Main Street, Fort Worth, Texas, 76104.

Responsibilities

• Completes screening questions, medication reviews, obtains vital signs, and records patient data.
• Prepares exam spaces for scheduled procedures and documents all care provided in the electronic medical record.
• Ensures exam rooms, supply rooms, and other areas of the clinic are clean and well-stocked.
• Cleans equipment according to instructions for use and ensures equipment has current safety inspection dates.
• Schedules appointments, completes electronic patient messages, medication refill requests, and patient forms.
• Collects lab specimens as directed and administers approved medications as directed.

Requirements

• Current JPS recognized Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and must be maintained throughout employment.
• Current certification from a national registry as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA).
• Certification in Non-Aggressive Crisis Management; must be obtained while in department orientation and maintained throughout employment when working within the Behavioral Health Department.
• 2-4.99 years of relevant experience as a Certified Medical Assistant II.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Successful completion of a Medical Assistant training program.
