Key Responsibilities
- Administer medications in accordance with physician orders, state regulations, and community policies
- Accurately document medication administration and maintain medication records
- Observe residents for changes in condition and report concerns to the nurse or leadership team
- Assist residents with activities of daily living such as dressing, grooming, and mobility as needed
- Support residents during meals and ensure proper nutrition and hydration
- Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents
- Communicate effectively with caregivers, nurses, and leadership regarding resident care needs
- Follow infection control and safety procedures at all times
- Provide compassionate support and redirection for residents experiencing dementia-related behaviors
- Promote resident dignity, comfort, and quality of life
Qualifications
- Certified Medication Aide (CMA/CMT) certification in good standing
- Experience in assisted living, memory care, or long-term care preferred
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures and documentation
- Strong attention to detail and communication skills
- Compassion, patience, and a passion for caring for individuals living with dementia
- Ability to work well as part of a team in a fast-paced caregiving environment
