CM Systems Specialist

About the role

The CM Systems Specialist will be responsible for the system that monitors maintenance, capital, and TAR contractors’ activities at the Baytown site. The system verifies time‑and‑material labor, equipment, and materials invoices, automates invoice approval, and allocates hours, equipment, and materials to various SAP work orders. The specialist will also develop and issue reports used by site organizations to manage contractor costs.

Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and develop the AES system used by the contractor‑management organization for labor, equipment, and material allocations for invoicing.
• Maintain and verify required data for the interface between AES and SAP.
• Develop and conduct training for system end users (procurement, site contractors, approvers, auditors, project controls, etc.).
• Generate reports for various site organizations.
• Identify system needs, work with the development team, and test enhancements/upgrades to AES to increase efficiency and security.
• Conduct weekly system audits and monthly invoice audits of contractor users; resolve disputed issues (e.g., time, rates, double billing, NLD’s, WTL’s, runner status) based on contracts.
• Collaborate with global colleagues in Germany on new AES developments.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent with at least 7 years of related experience, or an Associate’s degree with at least 2 years of related experience.
• Eligibility to apply for and obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) within a reasonable timeframe.

Preferred qualifications

• Proficient in working with Microsoft Excel.

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong working knowledge of both SAP and AES systems.
• Thorough understanding of the overall AES system and how changes affect end users at every level.
