Scope of the Job
At Soho House, a Club Receptionist/Host is one of the first points of contact for members and guests before they are seated for their dining experience. The role involves greeting guests, answering calls, and creating reservations for the Club or F&B operations.
Responsibilities
- Greet every member and guest by name (if applicable) and welcome new guests warmly and hospitably.
- Answer high-volume phone lines and confidently handle inquiries about menus, hours of operation, amenity availability/pricing, and calls for restaurant, rooftop, and cinema reservations, as well as general inquiries and deliveries, messages for members, and from employees.
- Create reservations for the Club or restaurants and assist F&B managers on the floor with service standards and execution.
- Punctually end all calls and interactions with friendliness, accuracy, and discretion.
- Work with the reception team to ensure excellent service for members and address any guest-related concerns promptly.
- Build relationships with members and guests and communicate positive and negative feedback to management to assess.
- Influence a fun and positive atmosphere by being approachable and professional.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in a similar role.
- Experience answering high-volume phone lines and handling inquiries professionally, timely, and accurately.
- OpenTable and Salesforce experience is a plus.
- Problem-solving skills and conflict resolution abilities.
- Detail-oriented, articulate, and capable of multitasking in a high-volume and demanding work environment.
- Strong communication skills and ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Flexible schedule and ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays (as needed).
Physical Requirements
- Able to seize, grasp, turn, and hold objects with hands.
- Able to work on their feet for at least 8 hours.
- Fast-paced movements required to move between different parts of the club.
- Able to move, pull, carry, or lift at least 40 pounds.
- Occasionally kneel, bend, crouch, and climb as required.
- Work indoors and outdoors.
