About the role

The CLS Med Tech position at Northridge Hospital Medical Center involves accurately analyzing and reporting laboratory tests to aid in patient diagnosis and treatment. Key responsibilities include using technical skills, instrumentation, and information systems, ensuring quality and accuracy of tests, and adhering to safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrated experience with laboratory instrumentation and methodologies across various departments.
• Proficiency in performing complex laboratory tests, analyzing results, and ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
• Strong understanding of quality control, quality assurance, and laboratory safety protocols.
• Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, both independently and as part of a team.

Requirements

• Minimum one year of experience in an acute care facility required.
• Bachelor's Degree in a biological or chemical science as defined by CLIA.
• Must be appropriately trained in clinical laboratory science as evaluated by the Director of the Clinical Laboratory.
• California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License (CLS) required.
• A current Los Angeles County fire card is required.

Preferred

• Must be proficient in the Core lab to include Chemistry/Heme/USC.
• Blood Bank preferred.
• Experience in an acute care hospital setting is also preferred.
