MLT/CLS - Medical Lab Tech Contractor

Outpatient MLT/CLS professionals needed for a long-term contract at Northern Navajo Medical Center in Shiprock, New Mexico. Eastern Shawnee Staffing Solutions, in partnership with Indian Health Services (IHS), is seeking qualified Clinical Laboratory Scientists (CLS) and Medical Laboratory Technicians (MLT) for this assignment.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing in assigned areas, including chemistry, hematology, blood bank, urinalysis, serology, and microbiology
• Collect, receive, process, and prepare patient specimens for testing
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory analyzers and equipment
• Perform quality control procedures and equipment calibration
• Analyze laboratory results and identify results requiring further review
• Assist with phlebotomy and specimen collection as needed
• Accurately document laboratory testing and results
• Follow established laboratory procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements
• Maintain appropriate laboratory records and documentation
• Work collaboratively with laboratory staff and other healthcare professionals to support timely patient care

Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned as needed. Candidates should be adaptable and willing to support the laboratory's clinical and operational needs.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
• ASCP, AMT, or equivalent certification required
• Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• 2–3 years of experience as a CLS or MLT in a hospital laboratory setting
• Previous medical or clinical laboratory experience required
• Experience in rural or underserved healthcare settings preferred
• Prior Indian Health Services (IHS) or tribal healthcare experience preferred
• Phlebotomy experience preferred
• Familiarity with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
• Must be a U.S. citizen
• Must be able to pass Federal Security Clearance
• Immunization records required
