(CLS) Clinical Lab Scientist Specialist, Per Diem - 140604

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-transfusion testing, compatibility testing, antibody identification, direct antiglobulin testing, blood component selection and issuance, inventory management, quality control, instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Manage specimen processing, reagent preparation, manufacturing of blood products, and documentation in accordance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
• Participate in method validations, implementation of new procedures, quality improvement activities, and training of staff and students.
• Independently prioritize workload and assist coworkers as needed to ensure timely and safe patient care.
• Support routine, urgent, massive transfusion, transplant, neonatal, and other specialized transfusion services.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

• Graduation from college with a major in an appropriate scientific field.
• A current Clinical Laboratory Scientist or appropriate subspecialty license issued by the State of California Department of Public Health.
• Two (2) or more years of relevant experience.
• Applicable clinical laboratory experience.

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with SoftLab/Softbank.
• Experience with Ortho Vision analyzers.
• Generalist skills - Blood bank.

Benefits

The hiring pay scale is $77.98 / Hour. The annual full pay range is $162,822 - $162,822 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%).

Pay

The hourly equivalent is $77.98.

Schedule

Work schedule is variable, 8-hour shifts, Sunday-Saturday.
