Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure and the systems hosted in it.
  • Design, deploy, and manage Active Directory including users, groups, systems, permissions and hierarchy, organizational units, and group policy objects; build and integrate AD Federation Services.
  • Manage and maintain virtualized environments and support operating system and application virtualization.
  • Analyze, design, develop, and deploy systems in a technically complex environment.
  • Provide operations and maintenance for fielded systems including security patching, backup and restore, upgrades, and lifecycle replacement.
  • Research and recommend automated approaches to system administration; write and maintain scripts.
  • Perform performance tuning and resource optimization, and produce performance reporting to support capacity planning.
  • Remediate Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M) security findings in coordination with the information assurance team.
  • Provide Tier III support for complex issues and lead recovery from system failures.
  • Document the environment, systems, and processes, and transfer knowledge of system configurations to the core government project team.

Required Qualifications

  • Able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust suitability determination.
  • At least 2 years of cloud computing administration experience.
  • At least 7 years of systems administration experience.
  • AWS experience including VPC, EC2, AMI, GuardDuty, Bastion, IAM, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, AWS Systems Manager, and AWS Config integration.
  • Extensive Active Directory experience: design, deployment, and management; users, groups, and permissions hierarchy; OUs and GPOs; ADFS.
  • Experience managing VMware ESX/ESXi.
  • Experience working with IIS and SQL Server.
  • Experience administering SharePoint environments.
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP and other networking principles.
  • Critical-thinking skills to analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve issues in a small, complex IT environment with or without direction from the government IT team.
  • Prominent effective written and verbal communication, teaming, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize workload, and provide guidance to others.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Scripting experience with Ansible, AWS CLI, or PowerShell.
  • Federal cloud or compliance experience including FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, or FISMA.
  • AWS certification (Solutions Architect or SysOps).
  • VMware VCP.
  • Experience supporting cloud migrations.
  • Familiarity with Section 508 accessibility standards.
