Cloud Systems Administrator

Our client is seeking a Cloud Systems Administrator for a 9-month contract-to-hire opportunity in Phoenix, AZ. This role is ideal for a proactive professional who will manage cloud infrastructure, ensuring high availability, performance, and security in a hybrid work environment.

Position type: Contract-to-Hire (all candidates must be eligible to convert to full-time employment without visa sponsorship)
Location: Phoenix, AZ (local candidates only)
Work setup: Hybrid (requires 100% on-site presence for the first 2-3 months)

Responsibilities

• Oversee the implementation, maintenance, and continuous monitoring of Microsoft Azure solutions.
• Manage core Azure environment services, including compute, storage, networking, and security frameworks.
• Serve as Tier 2 escalation support for desktop issues, including creating and updating KB articles to enable Tier 1 Service Desk knowledge transfer.
• Administer core infrastructure components, including DNS, Domain Controllers, and Azure Active Directory (including Hybrid Join and Entra Connect/AAD Connect).
• Maintain Azure IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS environments, including SQL databases, Managed SQL instances, and Web App service plans.
• Monitor system health, performance, and security compliance using Azure Workspace Analytics and related monitoring tools.
• Partner with Support Services to manage hardware inventory and asset tracking.
• Oversee endpoint security and device compliance using Microsoft Intune and Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions.
• Automate routine administrative tasks, manage certificate lifecycles, and maintain recovery vaults.
• Lead proactive vulnerability remediation efforts to protect infrastructure integrity and maintain system security.

Requirements

• No degree required.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS environments.
• Proficiency in managing Azure Active Directory, Hybrid Join, AAD Connect, DNS, and Domain Controllers.
• Familiarity with SQL databases, monitoring tools, and vulnerability remediation.
• Experience with Microsoft Intune, Mobile Device Management (MDM), and automation of administrative tasks.

Pay

$32 - $36 per hour

Schedule

8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
