Cloud/Environment/SaaS Engineer
About the role
The University of Chicago's IT Services team is seeking a seasoned Cloud/Environment/SaaS Engineer to manage and optimize its Oracle Cloud Fusion ERP ecosystem. In this role, you will help oversee environment lifecycle management across production, test, and development instances, coordinate Oracle's quarterly patch cycles, and ensure the stability of custom integrations.
Responsibilities
- Knowledge of ERP Finance and SCM.
- Manages Pods (SaaS instances), including production, test, and development environments.
- Covers Oracle's quarterly patch cycles to ensure custom integrations don't break.
- Assists with Mulesoft and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
- Helps with Visual Builder (VBCS) for creating custom web/mobile front-ends that interact with SaaS data.
- With moderate direction, conducts business process analyses, needs assessments, and preliminary cost/benefits analyses.
- Administers new IT developments, keeps up with evolving business requirements, and uses knowledge of University systems to recommend appropriate systems alternatives and/or enhancements to current systems.
- Performs other related work as needed.
Requirements
Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field and 2-5 years of work experience in a related job discipline.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field.
Experience: Progressive experience in Oracle Cloud environment management, background handling integrations, working in environment where multiple teams work together, designing and improving integration architecture.
Skills
- Expertise in SaaS Platform.
- Solid development and data skills.
- Proficient on REST and SOAP APIs, as well as Oracle’s Business Events.
- SQL and PL/SQL expertise for data extraction using BI Publisher and OTBI (Oracle Transactional Business Intelligence).
- Proficient with Oracle Fusion Workflows.
- Expertise in working with Oracle resources on SR’s and different types of patches, such as cumulative patches, etc.
- Proficient in Python or Bash for automating repetitive environmental tasks.
