About the role

As a Cloud Engineer, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of our cyber security customer. You will play a crucial role in securing our nation's secured infrastructure by working closely with the customer to have a great impact on the mission.

Responsibilities

  • Technical liaison and integration support with In-Q-Tel and external vendors
  • Support the customer's Assessment & Authorization (A&A) process

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience
  • 5+ years of Cloud Engineering experience
  • US citizenship required
  • Active Top Secret SCI + Polygraph security clearance

Skills

  • Cloud Platforms:
    • AWS: Experience with services like EC2, S3, Lambda, API Gateway, CloudFormation, IAM, Cognito, etc.
    • Azure (plus): Experience with Azure VM’s, Blob Storage, Azure Functions, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Active Directory, etc.
  • Kubernetes:
    • Experience with Kubernetes (CKAD or CKA certification is a plus)
    • Understanding of Kubernetes architecture, components, and ecosystem (e.g., Helm, kube-state metrics)
    • Experience with Kubernetes deployment strategies (e.g., rolling updates, blue-green deployments)
  • Programming Skills:
    • Proficiency in one or more programming languages, such as Python, Java, and TypeScript
    • Experience with scripting languages like Bash, PowerShell, or Perl
  • Containerization: Experience with Docker, including creating Dockerfiles, managing images, and orchestrating containers
  • Networking and Security:
    • Understanding of networking concepts (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing)
    • Experience with security best practices and compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, FIPS)
    • Familiarity with AWS-native encryption (KMS)
    • Familiarity with security tools like AWS IAM, Azure Active Directory, or Kubernetes RBAC
  • Monitoring and Logging:
    • Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or CloudWatch
    • Familiarity with logging tools like ELK Stack, Fluentd, or cloud logging
  • CI/CD and Automation:
    • Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or CircleCI
    • Familiarity with automation tools like Ansible, Terraform, or CloudFormation

Pay

The likely salary range for this position is $182,750 - $247,250. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary; pay will be set based on experience, geographic location, and possibly contractual requirements.

  • Telecommuting options: Onsite
