Job Summary
The Senior Staff Cloud Engineer plays a pivotal role in optimizing Credit Acceptance's IT infrastructure through cloud-based solutions. This position focuses on architecture, administration, maintenance, and availability of cloud infrastructure and supporting tools.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable, reliable, and maintainable cloud solutions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define product requirements, direction, and clarity
- Lead the design and implementation of cloud solutions that deliver high impact business value and customer delight
- Experiment and test ideas, validate assumptions against needs, reach conclusions, and recommend solutions
- Document standards, best practices, and engineering artifacts so others can easily understand, build, and maintain best-in-class Cloud systems
- Debug critical problems in production and execute effective solutions
- Anticipate customer needs and industry shifts to improve design and overall engineering practices
- Develop standard architectural practices and lead solutions development across partner engineering groups
- Conduct impact analysis to proactively identify impact of changes across multiple applications/systems
- Perform technical due diligence and architectural assessments of third-party technologies and solutions
- Maintain a comprehensive cloud library of all supporting documentation
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of experience designing scalable Cloud/Hybrid environments with a strong background in AWS and Azure
- Experience developing and managing Infrastructure as Code, leveraging tools such as Terraform, Ansible, GitHub, etc.
- Experience in the lead role overseeing technical direction for multiple Cloud/Platform/Development/DevOps/SRE teams
- Extensive experience with building and driving adoption of Cloud engineering best practices
- Hands-on experience with LLM integration patterns and at least one LLM gateway or proxy product (LiteLLM, Portkey, AWS Bedrock Gateway, or equivalent), including model routing, rate limiting, and token usage attribution in a multi-tenant cloud environment
