Cloud Engineer

Work location - Phoenix, AZ or Rockville, MD We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join our team on a 12+ month contract engagement, supporting operations across Phoenix, AZ and Rockville, MD. In this role, you will be responsible for administering, configuring, and managing enterprise IT cloud environments across Azure and AWS.You will play a critical role in designing, deploying, and managing cloud infrastructure — including virtual machines, storage, and networking — while ensuring security, performance, and cost efficiency across the environment. Client works in the Banking and Finance sector.Administer and manage Azure and AWS cloud platforms, including IaaS and PaaS services.Develop and implement best practices to manage and control cloud costs effectively.Provide Windows Server administration, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.Configure systems based on approved designs for system and network security.Monitor and analyse resource usage to recommend and develop enhancements to system capabilities and performance.Compare, evaluate, and implement new technologies, integrating systems into the computing environment.Configure, implement, and maintain system security strategies, policies, and procedures.Document systems infrastructure for users, support personnel, consultants, and developers.Participate in planning for continual upgrades of existing IT and introduction of new technologies to support business needs.Periodically review performance, workload, and capacity of cloud infrastructure and develop proposals to address identified issues. Technical Requirements:4-8 years of hands-on experience with Azure and AWS cloud platforms, including IaaS and PaaS services.Strong knowledge in Linux administration and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI).Experience managing integrated computing environments, networked environments, and network storage solutions.Demonstrated knowledge of security protocols and system security strategies.Experience with middleware and infrastructure components.Proficiency in Windows Server administration, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.Soft Skills & Professional Requirements:Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across teams.Ability to operate within a collaborative team framework both within the workgroup and across IT Services.Ability to manage shared resources and perform moderately complex tasks independently.Quality and deadline oriented with a proactive approach to issue resolution.
