Responsibilities

  • Act as a collaborative member of the clinical team to ensure continuity and quality of patient care.
  • Handle patient registration, insurance verification, and scheduling.
  • Answer telephone inquiries and return patient phone calls.
  • Initiate patient care assessments and gather vital signs.
  • Prepare patients and exam rooms for procedures.
  • Collect specimens and provide patient education and support as needed.
  • Assist physicians, patients, and families with care coordination.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Certified Medical Assistant certification required.
  • Minimum of one year of clinic experience in a clinical setting.
  • Phlebotomy experience preferred.
  • Previous customer service experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in typing, word processing, computer, and telephone skills preferred.
  • Experience with GPMS/EMR is desired.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification must be obtained within the orientation period.

Skills

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong ability to prioritize and adapt to changing tasks quickly.
  • Proficiency in using computers, fax machines, and copy machines.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong ability to work well in a team environment.
