Clinician, Mobile Crisis-Evenings (23709)

About the Role

As a Clinician for Mobile Crisis, you will provide crisis risk assessments with a diagnosis (with appropriate supervisory approval, per scope of practice), crisis stabilization and interventions, de‑escalation techniques, and follow‑up services to clients experiencing emotional, behavioral, and psychiatric crises. Interventions are delivered by telephone and on‑site mobile visits using a strength‑based, trauma‑informed, systems‑oriented perspective, including the development of crisis prevention and safety plans, evaluation of plan effectiveness, coordination with existing treatment providers, and linkage to additional community‑based therapeutic resources and supports. You will report directly to the Clinical Site Supervisors with guidance from the Director and Executive Program Director, and you will work on‑site with travel to community and clients’ homes.

Responsibilities

• Provide rapid response to adults, children, adolescents, and families in crisis by phone and on‑site within the community.
• Participate in an acute‑care emergency services rotation system designed to strengthen community‑based crisis intervention, including holiday and weekend coverage.
• Conduct risk assessments with a diagnosis (with supervisory approval), mental status examinations, and substance‑abuse screening.
• Analyze information to create an action plan that includes crisis stabilization, safety, prevention plans, and follow‑up.
• Consult with team members and supervisors regarding assessments and interventions.
• Coordinate with community resources for collateral input, referrals for mental‑health and substance‑abuse treatment, and follow‑up care.
• Provide short‑term crisis intervention and stabilization services in the home or other community locations where the individual is experiencing a crisis.

Schedule / Shift

• Full‑time: 5 days a week × 8‑hour shifts or 4 days a week × 10‑hour shifts.
• Weekend and holiday expectations; rotating weekend and holiday shifts required.
• When scheduled for a weekend shift, the workweek will consist of five 8‑hour shifts.

Requirements and Education

• Master’s degree (MSW or MHC) and at least two years of related experience.
• Required licensure: LMSW, LMHC, LCSW, LCSW‑R, MHC‑LP, or MSW‑LP.
• MSW‑LP holders must be license‑eligible and willing to apply for a limited permit upon hire.
• MHC‑LP holders must already have a limited permit and be close to completing required clinical hours.
• Willingness to pass and obtain full licensure within three months of hire.
• Valid NYS driver’s license and willingness to travel to clients’ homes and community locations under varied weather conditions.
• Ability to work in settings that may include pets, cigarette smoke, and other irritants.
• Commitment to rotating weekend and holiday shifts.

Compensation

• MSW/MHC with a limited permit eligible for a $2,500 retention bonus.
• Licensed Social Workers eligible for a $7,500 retention bonus.
